State Track Champs - 12-15th December 2009

Peter Bennett represented Bikeline Racing at the Queensland Senior Track Championships in Townsville.  Peter competed in the Elite Men's Keirin and Sprint events.  Peter's best result came in the sprint event where he got through to the bronze medal round with Cairns compeditor, Ivan Cook. Pete took the first race with a time of 11.87.  Ivan then took the second sprint in 13.01.  The deciding sprint saw Peter back up with a similar time in the first and securing the bronze medal in a time of 11.92.  Peter also participated in the Keirin where he got through to the repecharge round where he narrowly missed out on going through to the final.  Well done Peter.

Team Time Trial - 13th December 2009

Well it's a shame Matt was unable to try out his new Mavic Time Trial Disc Wheel and TT Helmet, but everyone better lookout when he gets the chance to use them.  Conditions were beautiful for the 20km event.  6 teams competed and all finished the course within a few minutes of eachother.  Overall, a very fun event to finish off the years official racing calendar.

The awards presentations has been postponed (due to the trophies being so big and awesome we required a bigger venue just to house them), so we will update you here on the website as well as an email out to all members.  If you have changed email address or would like to check that we have you latest contact information, send an email through on the Contact Us link.

Brian's Story - 13th December 2009

You may know Brian as the man that spins really really fast, but you may not know the reason why he can do it so well.  Brian is a track man and recently competed in the World Masters Games and the UCI World Championships.  Brian was able to provide us some footage of the UCI races.  Also, go over to the results page to read the full story.  It's a fabulous insite into the world of track racing at the highest of levels.

Team Time Trial - 13th December 2009

See you there on Sunday.

Goombungee Road Race Rap - 6th Dec 2009

Some good close racing at the Goombungee circuit today through-out the various grades.  The juniors had a testing course on the two major hills at the back of the circuit, while A - D grades tried their luck on the grueling 17km loop.

The Goombungee Road Race brings the Championship to a close so all that's left is the announcement of Club Champions.  This will be done after the Team Time Trial on Sunday the 13th of December.

There is still plenty of time to get your team together for next weeks TTT so ask around and enter your team via the form on the right-hand side of the website.  If you don't have a team, remember to enter your interest.  We already have one team put together from people registering their interest in competing.

Dalby Road Race, Run & Won - 8th Nov 2009

The event had the potential for very nasty weather, but luckly the only issue was a challenging headwind for the first half of the course.  There was a huge turn out from the cycling community which meant there was some great racing  The placings are now up on the Results page.

Huge THANK YOU to volunteers Flora, Kerry & Donna-Marie, Suzanne, Justin, Wendy, Jon and Matt.  These events don't just happen, they take a lot of planning to ensure everyone has a great day.  The club really appreciates your on-going support.

After a great race on Saturday afternoon at the Bikeline Racing Club Champs, the boys ventured down to Synergy Park in Brisbane for another hit out.  The boys are going from strength to strength because they took out the event with 1st, 2nd and 3rd placings.  Awesome effort boys!

Crit 3 Summary - 1st Nov 2009

Awesome racing across all grades.  Two of the races came down to video replys due to the close sprint finishes... and it wasn't until we viewed on a big screen did we realise the "true" results.  A great way to finish off the 3 race crit series in the club championships, and now look towards the road and KOM events.  The current points allocation across the grades remain very close.  Consistency seems to be the big advantage for the leaders at the moment.  We look forward to the longer events to see if some of the quieter contenders come forward and take some valuable champ points.

Junior Gearing Changes - 30th Oct 2009

Confirmation has come through from Cycling Queensland for junior members going from one age classification to another, (ie U15 to U17, or U17 to U19, etc) that once you have applied for next years license (and have the receipt) you can change to the new gearing specifications.  This rule was in effect as of the 1st Oct 2009.  You can apply for your new license at Bikeline or via CQ website.

Club Champs Crit 2 - 26th Oct 2009

The second race in the champs started off with a Junior event which was a ton of fun for the kids.  They all raced very well and we will continue to promote the event for the youngsters.  C & D grades got underway after that and there was some very fast and attaching action in both grades.  Lucas continues to extend his lead in D grade while Chris Head and Matt Needham picked up some valuable points to boost their title chances in C grade. A & B grades got underway with some spectacular thunder and lightening but after about 15mins of racing, the rain came tumbling down.  Who would have thought it actually rains in Toowoomba.  The races were called off so enterents in A & B will automatically go into this Saturdays race (31st Oct 2009).  Thanks to Pat Woods for taking some amazing photos during the event which you can checkout on the Photo Gallery under Club Championships 2009, and also in the YouTube video.

Club Champs Call For Volunteers - 23rd Oct 2009

To keep the racing going, we need your help.  Remember, if you volunteer, you get 3 points towards your championship total.  Jon Lindley could take out the championship by being commissaire every round.

We are looking to introduce a requirement for 1st and 2nd place getters in each grade to follow up next race as volunteers.  That means you can 1) assist and get 3 points, or 2) volunteer someone you know and race at the event.  A big THANK YOU to Jo, Wendy, Suzanne, Donna-Marie, Jon, Justin, Kent and the Head family for making race 1 a big successs.

TdW Update - 23rd Oct 2009

Pete "Sandal Man" Collins posts the second best overall time on Tour de Woomba.  Raf and Lucas also posting some impressive times in the Junior category.  Matt Hickey vows revenge after being bumped from 2nd position... he may have also been seen trying on some sandals and adapting speedplays for extra performance.

Club Champs Underway - 18th Oct 2009

What a great start to the club championships.  Some fantastic performances in A, B, C & D grades.  First Aid services were on-site but good to see they were not required.  That's because of you and clean, predictable racing, well done everyone!  Results will be posted on the Results page but current championship standings will remain hidden until the awards night, to keep things interesting.  All you need to remember is, continue and beat everyone else in your grade.

Tour de Woomba Update - 17th Oct 2009

Karl just wanted to rub it in before leaving for WA.  He has set a new scorching time up the range and also completed the velodrome race so he now has an overall time, and its the new one to beat.

Apologies to all the racers who submitted times over the last couple of weeks.  We weren't receiveing the updates via email.  We have found all the results so the page is now updated.  Some fantastic efforts, keep it up.
